WELCOME!
AND THANK YOU FOR VISITING OUR WEBSITE.
Enjoy a unique family camping and cabin experience with
the tranquil sounds of Moravian Creek and the marvelous
Moravian Falls waterfall, which stands at 60 ft tall with 2 levels,
and is 50 ft wide.
We have hot showers, full hookups, pull throughs, tent sites,
a large fishing pond, and camp store. Pets are allowed with
RV campers only.
Relax in one of our “Spiritually Inspired” lodgings --
The Villa, to the left of the waterfall, and The Cabin right of
the waterfall, that are just a short distance from the waterfall
and Office. Enjoy the peaceful and soothing sounds of this
wonderful nature and enjoy its year round beauty!
ALL VISITORS, Please Note:
Stop by the Office, the long tan building across the road from the waterfall, for
permission for the time to go into the waterfall area, out of the respect and
privacy of our paying guests, who are staying at The Villa and The Cabin, and
to pay for use of the picnic area ($5). Only the left side of falls is
available to public for photos, viewing, and picnics (the right side of falls
is closed to the public).
Parking: Please park only in front of the Office building (long tan building at
fishing pond).
The township of Moravian Falls takes its name from this waterfall, located in the
foothills of the Brushy Mountains, which rises just 2 to 3 miles (4.8 km) to the south
of the community. The area was originally settled by members of the Moravian
Church in 1753, and Moravians owned the waterfall for many years. The waterfall
was named after their church.
Today the waterfall is a tourist attraction, owned by Ken and Anita Wike, who operate
this history rich family campground. People travel from all over the U.S. and many
other countries to enjoy the tranquil beauty of its nature.
Many Christians find it a wonderful and inspirational place, and when the Merlefest
Festival is held each April for a weekend in the town of Wilkesboro, the campground
is full to overflowing with the campers having a wonderful time of fellowship, often
around a roaring campfire near the Moravian Creek that feeds the waterfall.
Besides the many campsites that are available, there are The Villa and The Cabin
that are wonderful lodging spots that we host.
The Villa is located to the left of the waterfall, tucked in just behind the trees and the
old water wheel next to the top of the waterfall. From inside The Villa’s screened in
porch, or from outside its spacious two level deck, the falls are only a few feet away.
The Cabin to the right of the waterfall also overlooks the waterfall and the stream
with its windows and outdoor decks. With beautiful pleasant decor and wifi, you
cannot find a better place to relax and unwind.
The whole area is beautiful and serene, and people often come to picnic ($5 a day
to rent a table) or to fish (see rates page) in the large Fishing Pond. Be sure to
check out our pictures page. Every season is beautiful here!
If you are coming for one of the many festivals in the area, like the Apple Festival,
or the Singing in the Foothills, or just to enjoy personal or family time, you will find
this an ideal place to stay and refresh.
